New Years/Brooklyn’s Birthday

On New Years Eve we grilled out and then set the timer to have the New Years countdown at 9 p.m for the littles. We had a dance party on the deck and the kids had an adorable party horn parade.

The countdown to New Years was highly anticipated because who doesn’t just look forward to Champagne and kisses? The kids prematurely guzzled down their sparkling juice as we organized for this picture. Connor and Adam had to check to see which one looked taller after the picture was taken ha ha. Addy was in charge of the 9 p.m. countdown.

After the bubbly the real party started.

The morning brought Brooklyn’s 7th birthday party and also Granny and Dave. She chose a Harry Potter theme and the party attendees went to the tattoo parlor for Harry Potter lightning bolt scars and Deathly Hallows symbols. Spencer was the tattoo artist and he was paid in butter-beer.

We ate dragons in a blanket (pigs in a blanket) and pizza; and of course we ate cake!

Brooklyn drew this party decoration from a you tube video and Cora helped color it.

Brooklyn was spoiled rotten by the family with presents. Thank you!

Granny and Dave took Brooklyn overnight as a special birthday treat. The rest of the family went to the Dali Museum in St. Petersburg. The museum was so crowded it was hard to tour it properly so our visit was cut short but that freed us up to got to Lu Lu’s and try raw Virginia oysters and other seafood delights. Connor, Spencer, and Addy all ate more than one raw oyster! Horseradish was the topping of choice. Brave kids!!!
